What is a family advocate? 

The Family/School Advocate (FSA) works in a Title I school with administrators, teachers and staff to reach parents and families at home, in the community and at school. The FSA works with stakeholders to develop a school level parent and family engagement policy, provide accessibility and opportunities for families.

How can I help? 

The FSA works with stakeholders to develop a school level parent and family engagement policy, provide accessibility and opportunities for families.
 
Work with all school personnel to promote an understanding of the value of parent/school partnerships and assist them with building effective partnerships with families.
 
Provide materials, activities and training for parents and families to help them effectively support their children at home and at school.
Help parents and families to understand curriculum standards and assessments
