Parents, to ensure the safety of all our student, this is a reminder that students are NOT permitted to bring or take medications at school until written parent/guardian consent and a completed Medication authorization from a healthcare provider licensed in North Carolina is received.

If your child needs medication of any kind during the school day, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs such as Tylenol, eye drops, allergy or cough medicine, you have the following choices:

You may come to school and give the medication to your child when it is needed.

You may speak with your healthcare provider about giving your child the medication before or after school.

OR-if your child does require ANY medication to be taken during school hours: Per CMS policy, Medication Authorizations are required for administering prescription and over-the-counter medications to students at school (CMS Policy JLCD/Regulation JLCD-R). Additionally, each medication must be in the original labeled container from the pharmacy or healthcare provider's office.

Please contact the school nurse, Michel Smith, MSN, RN at 980-343-6915 if you have any questions. Thank You for your support in helping ensure the safety of all our students.
