The front of Winding Springs Elementary

At Winding Springs all students are empowered to pursue their purpose and passion when they feel valued, safe and comfortable. Therefore, we consistently build meaningful and trusting relationships which nurture the academic and social emotional growth of our community.



Winding Springs Elementary…

  • Is located in the General’s Point neighborhood located off of Gibbon Road, right near the former Metrolina Expo

  • Serves approximately 750 children, Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade

  • Provides a learning community designed to promote strong academic and leadership qualities in all students

  • Has a diverse teaching staff, including veterans, new teachers, and staff from the Visiting International Faculty and Education Partners International programs

  • Is actively seeking to develop a Parent Teacher Organization and expand our community partnerships

  • Believes in the importance of technology literate students, with SmartBoards, Promethean Boards, classroom chromebooks, a technology lab, media lab, and iPads available for teaching and learning

  • Tailors the education process to the meet the needs of individual students based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study
