This Week @ WSA
Hello Wilson STEM Academy Families,
This is Principal Jeff Cook calling to share information pertaining to the upcoming week.
First, we look forward to welcoming back to the building our scholars in Rotation A on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Please note that Wednesday is a remote learning day for all students. All other scholars will as usual log in by 9:15 each day this week.
Second, this week is a short week as April break in effect begins this Thursday for all CMS students due to Thursday being a Teacher Workday.
Third, following the end of spring break on April 12th, all in-person students will attend four days per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays as Wednesdays will continue to be a remote learning day. All other scholars will as usual log in by 9:15 each day.
Fourth, if you are interested in having your child move from the Full Remote Academy to In-Person or from In-Person to the Full Remote Academy after spring break, you must call the school to communicate this request no later than Thursday, April 1st by calling 980-343-6070.
Fifth, as part of our Everybody Writes AVID Initiative, please remind your child that their Do The Write Thing Contest Submission is due on Tuesday, March 30th.
Sixth, all CMS schools will be offering full-day summer programming, entitled Camp CMS, at no cost. Students can attend one or both three-week sessions. Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided as students engage in project-based learning in the area of ELA, math, science, sports, and the arts. Session one will occur June 14 - July 2 and session two will occur July 12 - 30. Camp CMS meeting days during these weeks will be Mondays through Thursdays. More details about Camp CMS including sign-up information will be shared later this week.
Finally, WSA Parents, you are invited to a workshop series dedicated to meeting the needs of Wilson families. Our first virtual workshop on Wednesday, April 14th from 6:00 - 7:30 PM will be devoted to building your technology toolkit. A $20 gift card will be provided to the first 40 families that RSVP and attend. You can sign up at bit.ly/397UrtD or by accessing the form on our website.
That’s all for now.
