May 4, 2020
This is Principal Donevin Hoskins with an important message to all West Charlotte High School students. WE MISS YOU! "I MISS YOU!" I hope you are all safe and doing well.
None of us could have imagined we would be dealing with a global pandemic that has disrupted our lives. I encourage everyone to stay engaged with your teachers. The E-learning opportunities will continue for the next several weeks.
From May 4th to May 29th, students will be given at least 1 but not more than 2 graded assignments each week, by each teacher. The assignments will be graded to determine mastery, partial mastery or no mastery.
Students who receive a grade of mastery will receive a numeric grade of at least 90.
Students who receive partial mastery will receive a numeric grade of 80 to 89. Teachers will continue providing support and feedback on the work students are completing. SO DO YOUR BEST!
Several options will be available for all students for your final grades. The options are:
- Students may choose their numeric grade, which likely means you were passing the class. You will receive credit for the class and the numeric grade will be calculated as part of your GPA.
- Students may choose PC-19 (pass), which means you are passing the class. You will receive credit for the class, but it will not be considered as part of your GPA.
- Students may choose WC-19 (withdraw), which means you were not passing the class. You will not receive credit. WC-19 will not count against your GPA and you will be required to re-take the course later.
We are nearing the end of the year and I encourage you to do your best during these final weeks.
