Troy Moore began his career in education over 2 decades ago in Greensboro as a kindergarten teacher. His desire to provide all students with a strong educational foundation led him to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. After teaching for several years he was selected by the North Carolina Principal Fellowship a select number of educators are tapped each year to enroll in a North Carolina University and complete their Masters in School Leadership and intern in high needs schools. Following his completion of the program, we served as a CMS Assistant Principal prior to being appointed as Principal of Hawk Ridge Elementary. During his tenure at Hawk Ridge, he led the Makerspace movement and was recognized nationally for his innovative leadership. Troy continues to grow and challenge himself as he pursues Ed.D as he seeks to be the model of a lifelong learner for our students and community. Principal Moore is honored to continue to serve as Starmount's Principal and he looks forward to greeting students face to face each morning.
Principal Moore has continually shared his vision of ensuring Starmount Academy of Excellence is a school where everyone feels supported every day.
Mr. Moore has worked closely with staff, parents, and community partners to redesign a schooling experience where all students can thrive. Mr. Moore's dedication to children and family is rooted in his personal life. Mr. Moore's wife is also an educator. They have 3 wonderful teens and a dog. This may be one of many reasons Principal Moore shows great compassion toward families and teachers.
