Illness at School
Schools are limited in their ability to care for a sick child. Children will need to go home if sick at school (vomiting, fever, injuries and infections.)

Please provide emergency phone numbers to your school and update as numbers change.
NORTH CAROLINA SCHOOL ENTRY IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS
( click on the link above for the NC School Entry Immunization requirements from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)

Please make every attempt to have the proper immunizations and physical exams for your child prior to the first day of school.
Health Assessments

NC
law requires all first-time Kindergarten and Pre K students to have a
physical exam, along with students of any age that are new to North
Carolina. (see explanation below)
The exam must be done no more than 12 months prior to the date of school entry.
Starting in 2016-17, parents/guardians must submit proof of a health assessment for each child who is presented for admission into N.C. public schools for the first time.
The
health assessment must have been completed within 12 months prior to
the date the child would have first been eligible for initial entry into
the public schools.
(General Statute 130A-440; 10A NCAC09.3005)
More about the new health assessment requirement.
Immunizations
All children attending school in North Carolina must complete a series of immunizations.
North
Carolina law requires all principals to exclude children from school who
have not completed this series within 30 days of enrollment.
The immunization record must be brought to school when the child is enrolled.
