About Me

I am currently in my 3rd Year as Principal of Rocky River High School. I have a passion to learn and a desire to realize greatness in myself and others.

I am a 1990 graduate of Bandys High School (Catawba, North Carolina).  Upon graduating from high school, I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a full basketball scholarship. In 1992, I transferred to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Physical Education(1995) and a MS in Physical Education (2000). I continued my education at Gardner Webb University and received my degree in School Administration(1998).  I completed the requirements for my Ed.S degree in May 2015 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I am currently enrolled in their Ed.D program for Education Administration.

Before becoming an administrator, I taught in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County and Charlotte Mecklenburg School Systems.  I taught Health and Physical Education from 1999-2009. In addition to teaching, I coached basketball, football (Wide Receivers), track, volleyball and softball.

In June 2009, I accepted a position of Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Newton Conover High School. In March 2012, I became the Director of Athletics for the Alamance Burlington School System.  I served as Assistant Principal at Statesville High School for a year (2013-2014) before becoming Principal of Statesville Middle School.  I proudly accepted the call to be the Principal of Rocky River High School July 1, 2016.

I currently reside in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina with my two children: Jerron and Trevion.
