The school counseling program provides:
Whole class guidance lessons focusing on respect, friendship, safety, and career awareness.
Individual and group work in order to meet social, emotional, academic, and behavioral goals.

Jean Piermattei

I am the school counselor for grades K-2. I've worked supporting children and families for over 25 years, including elementary counseling, disability services, and as an early intervention specialist. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech and a Master's in Education degree from George Mason University. I am the mother of two children and spend my time away from work supporting their musical and athletic interests.

I am the school counselor for grades 3-5. I have worked as a Professional School Counselor for nine years. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from The University of South Carolina and a Master's in Mental Health Counseling degree from Webster University. I have a son who is currently a Fourth Grade student here at River Gate. I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends!
