Dear Parents:

Welcome to the AVID team!  We are excited to get to know your student as they go through their school year here at Ridge Road Middle School. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination.  It is a program that prepares students who demonstrate the potential for success to enter a four-year college or university. Our goal in RRMS is to provide the organizational and study skills necessary for your child to achieve academic success.

We believe open communication is an important aspect in education and we want to let you know that we are here by appointment whenever you need us.  Listed below you will find the supply list, AVID Fee, and ways to communicate with me. With everyone working together on a common goal, we can assure that our children/students achieve at their highest level.

The syllabus, avid contract, and other pertinent information will be sent home during the first week of school so please look out for them and return in a timely manner. Parents are a major part of the AVID Program.  Please visit www.avidonline.org for more information about the program and how you can support your student.

Thank you again for entrusting us with the education of your child and we look forward to working with you.
