Dear Cardinal Family Members,

The past year held many unique experiences. We are in the midst of a global pandemic that caused major changes. The Coronavirus uprooted rules and routines, but a real truth emerged amidst the turbulent times--an unwavering commitment to the teaching, learning, and support of our Cardinal families. There’s an urgent need to support our students, families, staff, and community members through unprecedented and unchartered territories.

In our 2020-2021 academic school year, school will look different. Technology, communication, and trust will be pivotal to the success of all students and families to ensure that everyone grows to be Next Step Ready in a meaningful manner.

In this communication, I aim to communicate our current plans to help you and your child transition into Remote Learning under Plan C here in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. We anticipate questions may arise on how school will operate and acknowledge that concerns may be shared on issues related to technology and internet access, post-secondary plans, and extracurricular involvement. We also recognize the significant role you have at home navigating through different academic platforms and communication methods.

Our staff maintains an unwavering commitment to equip every student with the academic skills and collaborative competencies needed to flourish in their next step. We are ready and excited to engage your child in a vibrant academic learning experience with a goal of enriching their academic and extracurricular experiences in the safest manner possible. Please take note of the dates and activities outlined to ensure the most successful start for you and your child in our new academic year.
