Talent Development

Dear Students and Parents,

Hello! My name is Laura Hoerning and I am honored and excited to be the Olde Providence Talent Development teacher! I am a native Charlottean and a product of CMS. I am also a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill (go Heels!). I am currently a grad student! I am earning my Graduate Certificate in Gifted Education through UNCC. I cannot wait to use what I am learning to enrich our students!

This year marks my fifth at OP and as a teacher. Teaching is a passion of mine and I absolutely love what I do! I believe that all students deserve to be exposed to challenging curriculums. Therefore, I will be working closely with all teachers to ensure that students receive enrichment opportunities that best meet their needs.

I was fortunate to collaborate often with our former TD teacher, Mrs. Miller. Therefore, I have experience using Problem Solver, Hands on Equations, Jacob's Ladder, PETS, CML, book clubs, Paideia seminar, and graphic organizers/analysis wheels.

Although this year is already shaping up to be like none other, I am fully committed to making this experience positive for everyone. I appreciate you and look forward to partnering with you this school matter how different and interesting it gets!

Please feel free to check out my website!

The website will be undergoing constant construction through January!
