Learning Packet

Quarter 1

Hello Oakdale Elementary Families:

Attached to this letter is a list of items for each subject that your child will need to be engaged in learning during the first quarter.  Enclosed in this packet and your bookbag are tools that you will need to ensure our Eagles are prepared for our first quarter of the school year. There is also a green lunch card with your student’s ID number on the back, which is needed for virtual learning.

Below is an explanation of what is listed under each column of the Remote Learning Quarter 1 grid attached to this letter, and how Oakdale is prepared to support your scholar.

Remote Learning--To log in to your child’s CMS assigned device and other needed sites, see the attached Virtual Log In Information sheet. Your student’s ID number is on the back of the green lunch card.

Math--We have copied items listed under Math as part of a Manipulative Kit, but your student will also be able to access these items electronically when the teacher sends them the link.  Your child will also receive the first Math Envisions workbook for the 1st quarter. Please note that if we return to learning in the building, your child will be responsible for bringing the Envisons book back with her/him to school.

Science and Social Studies--This learning will be synchronous(with the teacher and with our Science lab teacher ) and asynchronous(by video). There is no textbook, but your child will receive lots of supplies to support their learning.

Literacy--Your child will also receive the first EL curriculum workbook and/or pages to support learning for the 1st quarter. K-2nd grade students will also receive little readers called decodables for the 1st quarter.  Please note that if we return to learning in the building, your child will be responsible for bringing the EL book(s) back with her/him to school.

We know that this packet and supplies will allow your scholar to have an engaging learning experience. If you have any questions about the items and/or need more support for learning, feel free to contact your child’s teacher. If you have any technology needs, contact our school at 980-343-6076.
