​I have been in education for 27 years and with CMS for 21 years. I have served in numerous roles during this time and have had the unique opportunity to open two new schools in CMS as principal. I opened Merancas Middle College High School in the fall of  2017. In 2009, I opened Ridge Road Middle School, and I have also served as principal at Hawthorne High School. I was an assistant principal at Hopewell High School, Vance High School and J.M. Alexander Middle School.

I am active in the community, serve on numerous boards and am a member of various organizations. I am currently a member of the board at the University City YMCA and Empowherment. I am also a member of the Charlotte Chapter of the Links Incorporated and Delta Sigma Theta Incorporated. I have been married for 16 years and have one son.
