The 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year for Merancas Middle College is Mrs. Tiffany Walston.
Mrs. Walston teaches English III and AP Language and Composition at Merancas Middle College High School. She is the advisor of the Yearbook and Greenhouse 3 clubs. This is her 7th-year teaching in CMS. Reflecting on her teaching career, Mrs. Walston stated that "this career not only allows me to bring students together in a classroom through engaging conversations and texts, but teaching also allows me to continue to grow as a person. Every year, my students and colleagues inspire me and that is the best part of this career choice."
The 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year for Merancas Middle College is Ms. Kimberly Palmer.
Ms. Palmer teaches English IV and is the advisor of the Student Government Association, Impact the Outcome Club, as well as the Prom Committee. This is Ms. Palmer's 6th year teaching in CMS. Reflecting on her teaching career, Ms. Palmer stated that "every year and every student is different, which is what I love about teaching. I get to go into a new school year and not know what to expect but know that there is never a dull moment. There is always something that I get to learn and a student I'm able to make an impact on." Ms. Palmer also has just been promoted to a CTI Coordinator for the 2020 school year.
