LOTTERY APPLICATION: Click here to access the lottery application online.   A CMS Student ID number and CMS PIN number are required to complete the lottery application.  

To participate in the lottery, the following criteria must be met:

  • You must be a current Mecklenburg County resident. 
  • You must be a rising junior or senior.

 

COMPLETING THE CPCC APPLICATION:  This is a required part of the process. Complete and submit the online CPCC application to obtain your CPCC Student ID Number.  You can access the CPCC application here

APPLICANT INFORMATION FORM:  Click on the link here to complete the Merancas Middle 

College High School Applicant Information Form. It is important that we have accurate contact information for prospective students and parents.

SUBMITTING TEST SCORES: To complete the Applicant Information Form, a copy of official test scores must be uploaded. Screenshots and typed scores are not acceptable. A copy of the required test reports can be obtained from the College Board website. Assessment options and qualifying test scores are listed below.  If you are using the CPCC Placement Test, you are responsible for submitting the test scores. CPCC will not submit the scores for you.

TAKING THE CPCC PLACEMENT TEST:  The CPCC registration office generates a CPCC student ID number, which allows you to take practice placement tests online before you take the actual test.  Information on the CPCC Placement test can be accessed here. A PHOTO ID is required to take the test. The CPCC registration process must be completed even if you do not take the CPCC Placement test and are using one of the alternate test options.  Visit retest policy for instructions on how to take the CPCC Placement test again in the event of scores that do not meet the qualifiers.

CREATING THE CPCC LOGIN:  Students who need to take the CPCC Placement test will need to create a CPCC login.

                   Pre-ACT (begin Oct. 2016)                   English - 18, Reading- 22, Math - 22

                   PLAN:                                                     English - 15, Reading- 18, Math - 19

                   PSAT:                                                      Writing - 45, Reading -47, Math - 47

             PSAT  (begin Oct.2016):                 Writing & Language - 26, Reading - 26, Math - 24.5

 

CPCC RISE PLACEMENT TEST- Do not take this test if you have other qualifying test scores.  This test can only be taken twice in 10 years. 

The RISE test consists of five different tier levels.

Ø  There are three math tiers and two English tiers.

Ø  The test is not timed. Expect to spend about one hour per tier.

Ø  You must achieve a score of 75 or higher to advance to the next tier level.

Ø  You must pass each tier in sequential order. 

Ø  There is no fee to take the RISE tests.

Ø  You will receive your test results immediately. 

 

Passing CPCC Placement Test (Accuplacer) scores are as follows: 

NCDAP Reading, Revising & Writing  / 151 or higher

Math - DMA 010-060 /  7 or higher on all
