MCHS 2022 Candidates for Graduation

Important Dates:

  • Graduation Meeting: April 26, Auditorium (2nd block)

  • Senior Week: May 16-20

  • Senior Awards Ceremony: May 25, 8:30am, Auditorium

    • Dress code: Business attire 

    • NO sneakers, flip-flops, jeans, shorts or you will be sent back to class!

    • Meet in auxiliary gym at 8:15am

  • Graduation Rehearsal: June 6, 2022 @ 6:00pm, Spectrum Center

    • 333 E Trade Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

      • Enter on the 5th St Entrance 

    • Graduates (only) need to arrive no later than 5:15pm

    • If you do not participate in rehearsal, you do not walk for graduation

  • Graduation: June 13, 4:00pm, Spectrum Center

    • 333 E Trade Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

      • Enter at the loading dock

    • Graduates (only) need to report to loading dock entrance at 2:30pm dressed in cap and gown

    • Graduates (only) can park at Ovens Auditorium to take the shuttle bus to and from Spectrum

Things to do before Graduation:

  • Stay on track. Double-check your grades, missing assignments, attendance, GPA, etc. in each course.

  • Complete CMS Senior Exit Survey on Naviance by June 3rd

  • Complete the Scholarship Survey ( by May 18th

  • You will be given an official copy of your final transcript at graduation. It is your responsibility to send it to the school you will be attending.

  • Make sure you have your cap and gown - Southern Recognition - Contact Rob Kass if needed. (407-209-8112) (

  • Students should not decorate their regalia (if altered, you will not be allowed to walk).

  • See the financial secretary, Ms. Grant, in the front office to clear any financial obligations or you will not get a diploma after graduation (you will only receive a slip of paper that will direct you to pick up your diploma after you have met those obligations). Deadline: June 2nd 

  • Return your chromebook to Mr. Brenyo on one of the following collection dates: June 6-7th, 12:30-2pm or June 8th, 9am-1pm outside of the cafeteria.

  • Please upload a recording of your name pronunciation on the Senior Canvas page by May 18th

Rehearsal Information:

June 6, 2022 @ 6:00-7:30pm, Spectrum Center

Arrive no later than 5:15pm

  • If you do not participate in the rehearsal, you do not walk for graduation.

  • Find your Junior Marshal with the alphabet sign that matches your last name and line up in order.

  • Do NOT bring anything with you to rehearsal. No food, drinks, water bottles, or book bags will be allowed in the arena. No one will be available to hold or keep anything for you. 

  • No guests – parents, family, or friends – are allowed in the arena on rehearsal day. Turn off cell phones and keep them in your pockets.

Graduation Information:

June 13, 2022 @ 4:00pm, Spectrum Center

Arrive no later than 2:30pm

  • 333 E Trade Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

  • Graduates need to report to the arena loading dock starting at 2:30pm, but no later than 2:45pm, dressed in full regalia (cap and gown).

    • Dress code: Business attire – no jeans, tennis shoes, or shorts!

      • Men – Button down or collared shirt and tie, dress pants, dress shoes

      • Women – Dress, skirt, or pants with formal business blouses or tops, dress shoes. Please do not wear heels you cannot walk in.

    • No keys, phones, gum, purses, or backpacks. Leave these items with your family or guests. We are not responsible for belongings – we ask that you not bring any item(s) that would have to be confiscated.

  • CMS activity buses will be available to transport graduates (ONLY) from Ovens Auditorium to Spectrum and back. Graduates must have their regalia (cap and gown) to enter an activity bus. Graduates who wish to take the activity bus back to Ovens Auditorium must board the bus immediately following the graduation ceremony. Shuttle buses are for graduates only and will not transport family members.

  • Find your Junior Marshal with the alphabet sign that matches your last name. Line up in order.

  • Parking will be VERY limited. There are (PAID) parking garages in the area and a handicap drop off at the 5th and Trade St. entrances.

  • Students should not decorate their regalia (if altered, you will not be allowed to walk).

  • Students who choose to act inappropriately at any time during the ceremony will be removed from the ceremony by a CMPD officer and can pick up their diploma at school, after completing assigned community service hours.

Information for Family and Friends about Graduation:

  • NO: flowers, backpacks, fanny packs, gifts, balloons, noisemakers, air horns, banners, packages, or outside food or beverage.

  • See Ms. Braswell or Ms. Soulier about any special accommodations (hearing impaired/wheelchair accessibility) by April 28th.

  • Everyone will go through a metal detector and all bags, including camera bags, will be searched.

  • The arena will not hold items for your family and guests. If they choose to bring in a banned item, they will have to take it back to their vehicle.

  • Paid parking is available in garages around the Spectrum Center. CMS will not provide parking for graduates, families, or guests. There is a handicap drop off at the 5th and Trade St. entrances.
