I am delighted to be named the new principal of Lansdowne Elementary School. I have already had the opportunity to meet the majority of staff in person and via zoom, walk the building, and get settled in my office. I informally met our PTO presidents and they are both AMAZING! Last night, I hosted my first Family Town Hall Meeting and it was so nice to meet many families on the zoom. I have enjoyed reading through the completed staff surveys as I work to get to know my new Lion Family. You all have given me a great picture of the sense of family and the commitment to children already in place.
It is one my goals to continue to get to know staff, students, parents, and community partners so that we can establish trusting relationships to work toward achieving what is in the best interest of our children. In order for me to best understand you and your beliefs and goals, I have developed my Entry Plan that will guide my first few months at Lansdowne. It is my goal to learn about our school from each of your perspectives. Your initial survey responses and warm welcomes have provided me with some insight as to how Lansdowne has come together as a community during this pandemic.
My entry plan identifies my action steps in getting to know my new family. It includes collecting survey responses, face to face and/or zoom meetings with key stakeholders. I will be meeting with team leads, grade levels, support staff, parents, students, and community partners. All meetings, and information shared will be held in confidence but will help me in determining the path for the future vision of our school. As we begin this process during these unprecedented times, my hope is that you can establish trust in me so that we can work collaboratively as a team to make continuous improvements at Lansdowne Elementary School.
