Future City

Future City is a project-based learning program where students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades imagine, research, design, and build cities of the future. The focal point of the program is preparing for the North Carolina Future City competition that takes place at NC State on Saturday, January 13th. Future City has five different pieces that all need to be completed – designing the SimCity, researching and writing the city description, building the model, developing a project plan, and presenting the city to the judges. Students work in teams to complete these tasks. JMA will send three teams to the January competition: one for each grade level. For more information about our meeting schedule & to access our parent forms, visit the JMA Future City Website.
