ENROLLING YOUR CHILD

The enrollment packet below contains information on the necessary requirements to enroll your child in CMS. Please bring all items with you to enroll your child. Please be sure to have all forms completed and all required documents with you as to not delay the registration process. 




NC law requires each child entering public schools for the first time to submit proof of a health assessment to the school within 30 calendar days of the child's first day of attendance. The law applies to students enrolling in public schools for the first time beginning with the 2016-17 school year. MOVING?

CMS requires that you submit 2 proofs of residency when you are changing your address.(http://www.cms.k12.nc.us/cmsdepartments/StudentPlacement/Pages/ProofofResidency.aspx

A parent must submit the address change form in person to the school where your child is currently enrolled. Please use the following link to access the address change form: Address Change Form.pdf (*Please be advised that an address change may affect transportation.)


WITHDRAWALS

A parent or legal guardian must complete the withdrawal form in person at Jay M. Robinson Middle School. All Chromebooks, library books, and any other property of the school must be returned to JMR to complete the withdrawal. The student/family will receive a copy of the withdrawal for their records and will receive a sealed copy along with current grades to take to a new school for registration. Please call the school to speak with the registrar if you have any questions.

  • The Registrar's office is open daily during the school year. Please contact the registrar for information and/or questions regarding enrollment.

  • We do not have a program that allows future students to shadow currently enrolled students at JMR. However, families of prospective students are encouraged to contact Amy Self, PTA Parent Volunteer, (amys@carolina.rr.com) to schedule a school tour.
