6th grade Band Presentation: Below you will see the link to the recording of last night’s 6th-grade band presentation. The first few minutes of the presentation were not recorded. They included the introduction of our new band director, Ian Faires and a brief overview of the 6th-grade band program. One important change from previous years is that students will choose from one of four instruments to maximize instruction in beginning band while also in the remote environment due to Covid-19. As they move to 7th grade other instruments will become options. That is covered by Mr. Faires later in the presentation and viewable at the link below. Hello JMR Families-
This is Mike Miliote, Principal of Jay M. Robinson, with a special invitation to a Parent Orientation event.
We are scheduling Parent Orientation Sessions for parents by grade level on August 6th. The purpose of these meetings will be to orient and prepare parents to successfully navigate remote learning as the Board of Education has shifted all students to remote learning on August 17th. Each session has 500 seats available, so we ask the one parent per household attend. Please know that pre-registration is required to attend the event.

Hello JMR Families-
This is Mike Miliote writing with an invitation to attend a virtual community forum this week. I have heard from many of you that there are several questions that you have in order to make an informed decision between Plan B+ Remote and the Full Remote Academy. During this virtual community forum, I will outline the specific steps we are taking in order to prepare for both scenarios. As you know, this is an ever-changing situation and we are prepared to share our best thinking as of now. We ask that parents submit their questions in advance by 9am on Wednesday morning so that we can prepare to answer comprehensively. Please submit your questions by clicking here. Our virtual meeting allows for 500 participants only. So this will function on a first-come, first-serve basis. Any parent who cannot gain access to the meeting will have access to view the meeting upon the conclusion as it will be recorded and posted to our website for future viewing.
We have also created a link on your website where you can find all of our community-wide communications that have been sent to you. If your neighbors are not receiving these communications, we ask that you direct them to our website where they can access these communications. Additionally, please direct them to Emma1.Dodd@cms.k12.nc.us who can assist as well. These communications can be found by visiting the JMR website and clicking on "Updates during School Closure 2020-21."
