Message from Principal

This is principal Jeff Ruppenthal with an important announcement. Most of you have probably been made aware of the recent decision by the Board of Education to begin the 2020-2021 school year fully remote. The decision was difficult as all have been during the pandemic. We all want our children back in school for in-person instruction but we want it to be safe for students and staff.

The remote learning being developed by CMS on the Canvas platform is much more robust than the instruction that was rolled out during the spring. To help you plan, we want to share the HES Full Remote Schedule that will be utilized by all grades. The schedule will be also be posted on the HES Facebook page. The same schedule will be utilized for students in the Full Remote Academy unless there are extenuating circumstances based on grade level enrollment numbers. Please notice the specific hours in which instruction will be "live" which will require your child to log on to their device to receive live whole or small group instruction from their teacher.

We think having the one remote schedule should reduce the confusion of having to keep up with multiple log-in times for multiple children. Please know that we are confident in our ability to provide our students with rigorous, quality instruction in an all remote environment.
