Important information from the nurse: A letter from your school nurse
Please let the school nurse know of any health concerns your child may have. Health concerns can range from asthma, severe allergies, food allergies, diabetes, seizures, and CP just to name a few.
It is important for the school nurse to be aware of any health concerns to assist in keeping the school environment safe for your child as well as helping to collaborate with teachers in assisting with their learning.
Whenever possible, it is recommended that you give your child their medication at home. However, medication can be administered as needed here at school. Medication authorization forms are required for prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Forms must be completed and signed by your child’s doctor. A guardian’s signature is also required. The medication must be in its original labeled container. Any changes in medication will require a new written order from your doctor.

7th Grade Immunization Information
Tdap Vaccine and meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine for all 7th Grade Students.
*North Carolina state law requires all 7th-grade to students to receive one dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) and one does of meningococcal conjugate vaccine. Your child will need to bring a copy of the shot record to school on the first day of 7th grade. After the 30th day of school, students who are not in compliance will not be allowed to attend school, per state law. Please contact your health care provider or the Mecklenburg County Health Department to schedule an appointment.
