Dear ETES Families, get It is hard to believe that we are winding down the last week of school. I hope this communication finds you well. I wanted to send a few updates before summer break begins. For families returning to ETES in August, please look out for the postcard that will be mailed approximately a week prior to school starting (the week of August 16th). This postcard will provide you with bus transportation stops, Open House information, and your child’s teacher assignment. If your address has changed, please contact the main office so that we can update our records to ensure that you receive the back-to-school postcard information in August. We will also be posting school supply lists for 2021-2022 on the main ETES school website. This supply list will not be posted until mid-June. If you are not returning to ETES in August, please contact Nikki Smith so that she can reach out to other families waiting for an available seat. Mrs. Smith can be reached by email at latresac.smith@cms.k12.nc.us . For those families who have students enrolled in summer camp, details from the site administrator will be sent out soon. Our site administrator at ETES is Justin Holt; however, Edna Ellison will serve as the summer camp secretary. Mrs. Ellison can take messages and provide information or updates until Mr. Holt is fully on board (which will be after school is out). Mrs. Ellison’s email is ednac.ellison@cms.k12.nc.us (and the school number is 980-343-5475). I would like to thank all families for persevering through this very challenging year. Our students have endured full remote learning or some form of hybrid learning this year. Regardless, our teaching and learning experience was different – to say the least. We are hopeful that next year will continue to bring the full return of students and all that comes with a normal year of school (parent visitors, field trips, and extra-curricular events). Although I do not work CMS Summer Camp, I will be at ETES working each week over the summer months (except the last week of July). Please do not hesitate to reach out if I can be of assistance. Thank you again for your continued support!

Respectfully,

Mrs. Spencer-Smith Principal
