NEW! 21-22 Athletics Information (for Grades 7 & 8 only)

If your child plans to tryout for sports this year, please dowload the form below. This form must be completed prior to your child participating in tryouts, which for Fall sports, begin on the second day of school.  This packet includes your child's physical, so this must be done over the summer.  Payment for sports does not take place until after our athletes are selected for a team, so paperwork is all that is needed right now.  If you have any questions, please reach out to our Athletic Director, Mr. Rigby, directly - stuartt.rigby@cms.k12.nc.us .

Thank you for your support, we are looking forward to a great year for Crestdale Athletics!

Summer Reading

This year, we have made a slight adjustment to our summer reading "project". In lieu of completing a project, we are hoping to give students a wide variety of reading options to keep them reading through the summer and prepare them for what they will be reading during their upcoming year. We truly want to encourage students to practice reading skills and develop an enjoyment for reading. This year, our focus is student choice. Students are encouraged to choose a novel for their own reading pleasure, which is the only task for the Summer Reading Assignment. Therefore, a list of suggested novels has been created for Crestdale Middle School students. Please click on your child's grade level (the grade that they will be entering next year) below for the list of novels. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Ms. Noel.

Suggested Summer Math

Choose the specific pathway your child is on for math. This is suggested work to ensure students are prepared for their math course next year.  For example, students signed up for Math 6 have different topics suggested than those taking Math 6 Honors. Additionally, please pay special attention to notes on the document pertaining to students who are signed up for a math class next year that will cause them to skip a course. For example, if your child is moving from Math 6 to Math 7 Honors or Math 7 to Math 1, we strongly suggest you view this summer work as essential in order to create conditions of success for your child next year. If you have any questions please contact Cheryl Vanosdall at cheryll.vanosdall@cms.k12.nc.us. Click HERE.

Transportation Request - Does your child need a bus for the 2021-2022 school year?

In preparation for the 2021-2022 school year, we ask that parents request buses for their students as soon as possible. A delay in a request may result in delayed access to transportation at the beginning of the year. Click the link below to access the CMS Student Ridership Form. You will login with your student's ID and their last name. Before submitting your request, scroll down to the bottom of the page. If you see a proposed bus stop, then SUCCESS!!! your child already has a bus route assigned. If not, please complete and submit the form. Crestdale will have bus information available to families during Open House.
