Vision: Clear
Creek Elementary creates an environment that promotes success for all
students by developing the intellectual, social emotional, and physical
attributes of every child.
Mission Statement: Every child, reading, writing, listening and speaking every day!
Welcome!
We look forward to a successful year together as partners in your
child’s education. We are thrilled to welcome you aboard the CCES Cruise
Ship - “Sailing to Success”. The theme, inspired by our view of
teaching and learning as a journey, allows us to take a deeper dive into
teaching and learning in order to provide varied strategies to ensure
our students are successful.
At
Clear Creek Elementary, our goals are to build a strong foundation for
learning throughout a student's life, as students read, write, listen
and speak every day. Our highly effective staff work diligently to make
sure every student receives an equitable and rigorous education, as we
focus on academic growth and student success.
I
am excited to embark on my third year as principal of Clear Creek
Elementary School. The elementary school years are critical times of
development for students and families. I look forward to working with
all of you to make this year successful. I am a lifelong learner who
brings a firm commitment to students and families as well as a love of
learning and problem solving. I have taught at the elementary school
level, served as an elementary school assistant principal in New York
City, and as an assistant principal and principal in CMS before coming
to Clear Creek Elementary School.
The first day of school will be Monday, August 26th.
Our students’ day begins at 7:40am with the morning announcements, with
our instructional day beginning at 7:45am. Students begin dismissal at
2:35pm with our younger students, and all other students are dismissed
by 2:45pm. Car line morning arrival begins at 7:15am. All students must
remain with their guardians until school personnel begin unloading
cars.
Our “Back to School Open House” will take place on Thursday, August 22nd from 4:00-6:00 for students in grades Pre-K-5th.
You may bring your child’s school supplies to Open House if you wish,
and leave them with the teacher. During this time, Clear Creek planners
will be on sale for 2nd –5th graders for $5.00.
Please plan to purchase a planner so your child will have it for the
first day of school. Our PTA will have information available for
volunteer opportunities as well as a chance for you to become a PTA
member for $6.00. If you join the PTA and purchase your child’s planner
at Open House you can purchase both for $10.00. If you are unable to
join the PTA during Open House, we encourage you to join using the
online platform https://clearcreekdragons.memberhub.store/. Our
students have achieved great success and received many benefits due to
the efforts of our PTA. The PTA was integral in funding and continuing
to update our literacy library, providing classrooms and the Art program
with technology, and helping teachers purchase other needed classroom
materials. PTA fund raising events are successful and involve awesome
activities that bring Clear Creek families together, working for student
success as a unit.
As
partners in education, we look forward to parents and community members
volunteering time, resources and talents, to enhance our students’
academic, social and emotional needs. We value your input and encourage
you to join and actively participate in our Parent Teacher Association.
Kindergarten
entrance is staggered the first three days of school; that is,
Kindergarteners will only attend one of the first three days of school.
Kindergarten students will not attend school on Thursday August 29th,
however all Kindergarten students will attend school on Friday, August
30th. We encourage you to attend the Kindergarten drop-in Open House on Thursday, August 29th from 3:00-4:00. Kindergarten parents and students are welcome to attend the “Back to School Open House” on August 22nd from 4:00-6:00, as well. A staggered entry schedule is included in this packet for Kindergarten students.
School Forms
Teachers
will send information home with your student on the first day of school
explaining which forms to access from the CMS Website and return to
school.
Class Assignments
Individual
student classroom assignments are being finalized this week. Our
teachers will contact families prior to Open House to introduce
themselves and let you know your child’s assigned room number in order
for you to visit during Open House. Kindergarten students will be
notified of their class assignment on August 29th, after the staggered entry days. Please
also note that all class assignments will be considered temporary,
pending an increase or decrease in enrollment as calculated on the
twentieth day of school. This is a state procedure and our teacher
allotments are funded by the state based upon enrollment. Any changes
in class assignments will be communicated to parents prior to changes
taking place, if necessary.
After-School Enrichment Program
The After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) will be available at Clear Creek immediately following dismissal until 6:00 pm. To find out more, contact ASEP at (980) 343-5567 or visit the CMS website.
Please
be flexible with the bus schedule during the first few weeks of
school. Be sure to arrive at least 10 minutes early to your posted
stop. During this time the CMS transportation department evaluates bus
routes and makes changes as necessary to provide the best transportation
possible for your child. In addition, if you’ve moved over the summer,
please call the school for information as to how you can update your
address. CMS will provide transportation to alternative stop locations,
including licensed daycares, only if it is within your child’s school
boundary. If you have questions please do not hesitate to call us for
assistance.
Clear
Creek Elementary is an incredible school and I could not be prouder to
serve as a leader in such an amazing community. We look forward to
collaborating with families and the community in the year ahead. We
welcome all of you to visit in order to see all the amazing things
happening at Clear Creek. Please feel free to call 980-343-6922 if you have additional questions about Clear Creek or the new school year. I look forward to meeting you at our Open House. Please introduce yourself in the days and weeks ahead.
Go Dragons!
Educationally yours,
