Mrs. Sanderson

I am originally from Lumberton and currently live in Indian Trail, North Carolina. I have had the opportunity
to live in many different places and I am glad to be back in my home state. My husband’s name is Jimmy
and we have one son, Trey. Teaching is my second career. I was a financial analyst before I became an
educator. I received my Post Bachelor Certification in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University
and my B.S. in Business Management from the University of Maryland. I continued my education in
business through graduate courses at Hampton University and Troy University.
How long have you been at Clear Creek?
I have been at Clear Creek since 2014. My first year here, I was a second grade teacher and after that I
have served as the K-2 Academic Facilitator.
What do you like best about Clear Creek?
I have had the opportunity to teach at several different elementary schools and can honestly say
Clear Creek is unique in that our teachers and staff are a family. The teachers and staff love the students
they work with and build meaningful relationships with their students. We work together to help our students learn to their highest potential by providing differentiated instruction to meet the needs of each individual child. We also have the highest expectations
of all children and challenge both ourselves and students to achieve those expectations.
What is your favorite food?
I love food, so this is hard! I think pizza is one of my favorites for sure.
What is your favorite book?
Love You Forever by Robert Munsch
If you could learn anything, what would it be?
To speak another language fluently.
In your free time, what do you like to do?
I enjoy going to the beach where I can spend time with my family and unplug. I also enjoy exercising and
have recently started taking a kickboxing class.
Interesting facts-
I lived in Europe for several years and have visited many countries including Germany, France, Belgium,
Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. I have also visited several islands including Bermuda, the Bahamas,
Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Jamaica, and the Azores.
Ms. Davis

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Wingate University, my masters from Winthrop
University and am a National Board Certified Teacher. I am in my tenth year of teaching at
Clear Creek. I love teaching Physical Education at Clear Creek. The staff is supportive
and the students are excited to participate in PE class as well as extracurricular activities
that I sponsor such as Walking Club, Physical Activity Club and Stay and Play days.
My favorite food is potatoes. My favorite children’s book is “Winners Never Quit!”
by Mia Hamm. If I could learn anything, I would love to learn to quilt. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, gardening and playing pickleball.
I cook on the grill year round and love the outdoors. I am a big tennis fan and enjoy
attending tennis tournaments locally and abroad.
Mrs. Kirby

Hello, my name is Connie Kirby. Everyone calls me Ms. Connie. I work in the front office
here at Clear Creek as the secretary. I have a long history with Clear Creek. My two
daughters went here and now I have grandchildren that go here. I have been working at
Clear Creek for 15 years, first as a technology instructor and now in the front office. I have
loved my career here and feel very lucky to work with such wonderful teachers and staff.
This is a great school.
Some of my favorite things to do is to spend time with family, especially my grandchildren.
I also enjoy going for long walks on the beach or hiking in the mountains. I also love to read. Books can make you feel like you are part of the story or they can take you to faraway places without leaving your home. A fun fact not
many people know about me is, during my college years, I use to act in plays and sang in
an opera. If I could learn something new, it would be to learn how to play the guitar or a
harp.
Ms. Jackson

My name is Joy Jackson and I am a teacher assistant. I have been working at Clear Creek for almost 20 years. I also was a student here in Kindergarten through 6th grade. I have
two children that also attended Clear Creek. The staff and students are like family to me.
Everyone here is so kind and caring. Mrs. Rodriguez-Cruz
My name Yadira Rodriguez-Cruz and I am the new music teacher. I'm from Fayetteville, NC, and I'm Puerto Rican. I graduated in May from UNC-Chapel Hill where I studied Music Education and Psychology (#goheels)!
How long have you been at Clear Creek?This is my first year at Clear Creek - and my first year teaching!What do you like best about Clear Creek?I love the students! Their enthusiasm and energy is so great and makes me feel excited to teach them.

(Does dessert count??) My favorite food is my mom's chicken fricassee with rice!
What is your favorite book?
I love reading, so I don't really have a favorite book, but I have read the Hunger Games
series 6 times and am looking forward to reading the newest book. If you could learn anything, what would it be?Sign language.In your free time, what do you like to do?I love to bake and play my instruments. Interesting facts-- I have seen over 20 local/regional productions of Broadway shows but have never seen a show on Broadway in New York (but I want to!).
- My primary instrument is the flute, but I also sing and play the piano.
- I played piccolo in the marching band at UNC.
