  • Overall mission of the school is to provide access to college coursework to first-generation college students, economically disadvantaged students and students seeking acceleration

  • Opportunity for students to earn high school diploma and up to 60 hours of transferrable college credit during the 5 year program
  • CEEC students can begin accessing UNC Charlotte coursework during their 10th grade year (Most begin in 11th grade)
  • Tuition, Fees and Textbooks are all provided during the program
  • Early College Calendar-begin in early August, dismiss in mid-May
  • CMS Transportation provided
  • Access to light rail provided for a small fee
  • Overall 3.0 GPA in UNC Charlotte Coursework
  • Over 6000 overall credit hours earned after the spring of 2020
  • 16 students graduated in May of 2018.  4 enrolled at UNC Chapel Hill, 1 at NC State, 1 at Cornell University, 1 at Kings College in NYC, 1 at Elizabeth City State, 1 attended college overseas and 7 entered the workforce and/or attend community college.
  • 77 students graduated in May of 2019.  29 enrolled at UNC Charlotte.  Other schools represented: UNC Chapel Hill, NC State, Appalachian State, Dartmouth, New York University, University of Alabama-Huntsville, NC Central, NC A&T, Elizabeth City State, CPCC
  • 68 students graduated in June of 2020.    17 enrolled at UNC Charlotte.  Other schools represented: Vanderbilt University, New York University, UNC Chapel Hill, NC State, NC A&T, Winston-Salem State, Georgia Southern, Charleston Southern, Western Carolina, East Carolina, Xavier University and CPCC

  • Grades 10-13 housed on campus at UNC Charlotte
  • 173 CEEC students are enrolled in UNC Charlotte coursework for the 2020 Fall Semester
  • CEEC students save approximately $7100.00 each year in college tuition and fees
  • 16 CEEC alumni are attending UNC Charlotte on the Duke Energy Foundation Scholarship.  All 16 will receive an undergraduate degree at no cost to the student
