General Admissions Steps​

 
 
Non-CMS students must complete the New Student Enrollment process. New Student Enrollment Process
 
Step 1: COMPLETE THE CPCC APPLICATION
  • This is a required part of the process. Complete and submit the online CPCC application to obtain your CPCC Student ID Number.
  • You can access the CPCC application here.

Step 2: CREATE THE CPCC LOGIN
  • This is a required part of the process. Create a CPCC login.
  • You can access the CPCC Login application here.

Step 3:  Coronavirus Update: Please call CPCC's Cato Testing Center at 704-330-4847 prior to 
              registering for the RISE Placement Test to inquire about the testing platform.  We
              also, highly recommend that you register to take the ACT or SAT.

NOTE:  If the CPCC RISE Placement Test is available 
  • Caution: DO NOT take this test if you have other qualifying test scores because the RISE Placement Test can only be taken twice in a 10-year period.
  • The CPCC registration office generates a CPCC student ID number which allows you to take practice placement tests online before you take the actual test. Information on the CPCC RISE Placement test can be accessed here.
  • A PHOTO ID is required to take the test.
  • The CPCC registration process must be completed even if you do not take the CPCC RISE Placement test and are using one of the alternate test options.

Step 4: SUBMIT TEST SCORES
  • Submit your test scores in person or by scanning them to alicisa.johnson@cms.k12.nc.us. NO FAXES PLEASE
  • Assessment options and qualifying test scores are listed below.
  • If you are using the CPCC Placement Test, you are responsible for submitting the test scores. CPCC will not submit the scores for you.
  • Students who are not current CMS students are also responsible for submitting a transcript for review.

Step 5: APPLICANT INFORMATION FORM
  • Click on the Applicant Information Form to complete the Cato Middle College High School Applicant Information Form. It's important that we have accurate contact information for prospective students and parents.
