Dear Berryhill School families,
Welcome to Berryhill School! This school was built in the late 1970s after the original Berryhill School burnt down. In 2007, we added a new wing to our school and renovated the existing front-office area. In 2011 Berryhill Elementary became Berryhill PK-8 School.
At our school, we are building each year on a tradition of excellence and academic success, setting higher goals for ourselves and our students. We focus daily on individual student growth. In the 2018-2019 school year, Berryhill exceeded expected growth as measured by the end-of-year state assessments.
We offer a variety of extracurricular activities including middle school sports, Girls on the Run, Heart and Sole, Battle of the Books, student council and a variety of after-school programs that focus on sports.
Finally, I would like to tell you a little bit about me. I am originally from Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. I earned my master’s degree in curriculum and supervision from UNCC and my principal certification from Winthrop University. I have worked at CMS for the entire 22 years of my career.
As a principal, I am committed to providing the best education possible to each of our students and I believe that every child can succeed in school. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. I can be reached at 980-343-6100 or
c.heath@cms.k12.nc.us.
I look forward to working with you to ensure that Berryhill School continues to offer a challenging, effective educational experience in a safe, happy atmosphere.
Thank you for choosing Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Berryhill School.
