Title I

Title 1 is the largest federal education-funding program. It provides funding for high poverty schools to help students who are behind academically or at risk of falling behind. (http://www.education.com/definition/title-1/)

Albemarle Road Middle School is a Title 1 Focus School.  We receive additional resources for professional development, instructional supplies, support programs, and parental involvement.  These resources assist us in providing equitable educational experiences for our students.

For two consecutive years, Albemarle Road Middle School has met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and, as a result, Title 1 sanctions such as required SES tutoring and the option for our students to attend higher achieving schools has been lifted.
