Greetings from the Principal
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! I hope your family has enjoyed the summer break and is excited about the opportunities for academic excellence that await us. The staff at Steele Creek Elementary and I look forward to meeting and partnering with you this year to ensure that our children are prepared to excel.
Our first day of school will be Monday, August 29, 2016. Students may arrive at school at 7:15 am daily. Classes will begin at 7:45 am. Dismissal will begin at 2:45 pm. Student safety is important, so please write a note on the first day to tell us how your student is to go home. Please include a contact number in case we have questions.
Please help maintain a full instructional day every day this year by having your child remain at school from 7:45am -2:45pm. Early student check-out ends at 2:00pm, so come to the office to sign out your child by that time. Please have proper identification and information noted on the blue card for release.
Early student check-out should be restricted to emergencies and/or medical concerns. If you have any questions regarding the opening of school, please call our school at (980) 343-3810.
To welcome all of our parents and students and answer any questions about our school, we have planned an Open House and Information Fair for Thursday, August 25 from 5:00 pm-6:30 pm. Open House information is also available on the CMS website: www.cms.k12.nc.us under the school's tab. (Open House is open to all students and parents; however, please remember our kindergarten students will not have a teacher assignment until September 1st.) Kindergarten Parents, I invite you to meet staff, tour our school, visit classrooms, and attend the Information Fair held in the gymnasium.
