Smithfield Elementary is a neighborhood school located just 10 miles south of uptown Charlotte and serves the South Charlotte community with Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grades.
At Smithfield, our mission is to do whatever it takes for all kids to ensure they experience success, safety, fun and enjoyment, freedom and independence, valued purpose, and love and belonging.
Smithfield’s state of the art building was opened in 1993. An award-winning architectural facility features large, bright and inviting hallways, classrooms, cafeterias and multi-purpose room. The school features a fully upgraded media center and computer lab.
The energy at Smithfield is ubiquitous – and you will feel it as soon as you drive onto our campus . . . it comes from our leadership, from our staff, from our parents and families and from our 650 students, who represent a widely diverse population.
