Greetings Sedgefield Elementary Parents—
I am delighted to serve as the Resident Principal of Sedgefield Elementary for the 2017-2018 school year. We have a team of talented and excited teachers and staff eager to help our children learn and grow!
I want to take a moment to briefly introduce myself through this letter, but hope to meet you in person very soon. I am originally from Northern Virginia and have called Charlotte my home since 2003. I live in the University area with my husband and we have one daughter who is finishing her last year of undergraduate school at North Carolina Central University. I am an avid fan of the beach and love to spend my spare time near, on, or in the ocean.
For the past 18 years I have been a high school teacher and middle school assistant principal. I served as an English teacher at my high school alma mater for three years before moving to Charlotte. I have worked in CMS for 15 years and served at the high school, middle school, alternative education, and now elementary school level. I simply love children of all ages and abilities. Prior to moving into education in 2000, I spent 17 years working in the financial industry, managing consumer lending and training.
I received my undergraduate degree in English from the University of Virginia, my Masters in Social and Organizational Learning from George Mason University, and my Masters in Educational Leadership from Winthrop University. I am truly a life-long learner and can offer a personal account of how education provides so many remarkable opportunities in life.
I am excited to meet you in the coming days and weeks. I look forward to the great things your child will accomplish this year at Sedgefield Elementary and the wonderful memories we will create together.
In service to you,
Stacey C. Clark
