Welcome to the Rocky River High School Media Center!

Hours of Operation
The Media Center will be open for student use daily from 6:55 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. *
* Hours are subject to change based on Media Center usage

Expectations

  • Students will enter and exit the Media Center quietly
  • Students will sign in and out and show their dated/signed passes at the circulation desk
  • Students will work quietly
  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the Media Center
  • Students will push in chairs and clean up their work area before leaving the Media Center
  • Students will return all borrowed items to the circulation desk

Book Checkout

  • Students must know their student I.D. numbers to check out materials
  • Books are checked out for ten school days. Books may be renewed one time if there are no "holds" on that title
  • No more than two books may be checked out on the same topic
  • The fine for overdue library books is five cents per day
  • The replacement cost will be charged for lost books. If the book is paid for, then found, a refund will be issued
  • Reference materials may not be checked out

Computer Use

  • Students must "check out" computers at the circulation desk
  • Students must have an academic purpose for using the media center computers
  • The "computer checkout" card must be visibly displayed on the computer that is assigned. The student is responsible for all activity at a computer while it is checked out to him/her
  • When finished, students "check in" their computers by returning the card to the circulation desk
  • The __CMS Acceptable Use Policy__ is in effect for all students who use the media center computers

Students violating any of these policies will lose their computer privileges for two weeks. Serious or repeated violations will result in disciplinary action and the loss of computer privileges for the entire school year.
