Recent Events

Students who participated in the Career Readiness Training on December 7​th through the Mayor's Youth Program.  This training prepared students ​for their summer paid internships.

On Thursday, October 27, Charlotte Soccer Academy came out to Rocky River High School to run a soccer clinic for Special Olympics athletes. The students worked on passing, dribbling, and shooting skills as well as game practice. The student athletes had a great time! On Friday, October 28th, the athletes competed at Special Olympics Mecklenburg County Fall Soccer competition at Freedom Park. The RRHS soccer team won gold! In addition to the team, 5 of the athletes competed in individual soccer skills. All 5 of the individual athletes also placed in the medal rounds.


October 15th, 2016, Matthews North Carolina Mayor, James P. Taylor presents the Stump Town Classic Drill Meet Tro​phy to the Rocky River Ravens Drill Team for their decisive win Saturday.  Ravens Team Captain, Cadet Command Sergeant Major Steven Aristizabal is accepting the award.  


October 12th, 2016, Rocky River Cadet Battalion Commander Asael N. Salina​s is presented with the Legion of Valor with Bronze Cross for Achievement.  From left to right, LTC Tyron Eason, Senior Army Instructor for the Rocky River JROTC Battalion, Mr. Leonard Funderburk, Legion of Valor member and Air Force Cross recipient, Cadet LTC Asael Salinas, Ms. Ericia Turner, Rocky River High School Principal, and LTC Richard Laughlin, Deputy Director of Army Instruction for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.







The National Honor Society presented Ms. Turner with flowers and a video on Nov. 16th, in appreciation for all that she has done to make Rocky River High School a better place.  Check out the video in the "School Announcements" section!
