Uniform Policy


Pre K- 2nd Grade


Navy Polo

(No logos, must have collar)



Khaki Bottoms- Shorts, Bermuda shorts (Can be worn until Oct. 1), skorts, skirts (Length guidelines), jumpers (grade level appropriate Polo must be visible underneath), capris, & pants are acceptable. (No leggings, No Joggers)


  • Each child is required to have 2 additional sets of uniforms to leave in the classroom (including underwear and socks) in case of emergency.

3rd Grade- 5th Grade


Yellow or Gold Polo

( NO logos, must have collar)

RWSA Uniform Guidelines

  • Every scholar must be in FULL uniform upon entering the school premises.

  • Clothing must not reveal undergarments, and scholars are not permitted to wear visible non-dress code clothing underneath their school attire.

  • Pants must be worn at waist.

  • Hats and coats (outerwear) are not to be worn inside the classroom.

Grooming and Jewelry

Teachers and administrators at Renaissance West STEAM Academy recognize the cultural and personal differences naturally reflected in variations of grooming and jewelry. These can be accommodated in RWSA provided they are not distracting.

The following items are allowed:

  • Stud earrings

  • Necklace/chains (16in or shorter, limited to one(1), must be worn underneath uniform polo)

  • Bracelets (limited to one(1))

The following items are not allowed:

  • No large hoops or dangling earrings

  • No facial piercings

  • No visible tattoos

Uniform for Special Occasions

Each scholar must have one formal or dress uniform for special occasions (class pictures) or performances. This uniform will consist of the following: (young men) Navy Polo & Khaki Pants (young ladies) Navy Polo & Khaki Skirt/Pants

K-5 Physical Education Uniform

On Physical Education (P.E.) days, scholars will be allowed to wear their P.E. uniform all day (Optional).

P.E. uniform: White or yellow/gold t-shirt, blue or black athletic shorts. Athletic shoes ONLY

PreK-5 Outer/Layered Wear

Outerwear (Coats) and Backpacks are at the discretion of the parent. All coats, jackets and backpacks should be labeled with the scholar’s first and last name.

Hooded or non-hooded sweatshirts, zip up sweatshirts, cardigans and sweaters must be solid black, white, navy, yellow/gold ONLY. Hoods are not to be worn inside the classroom.

Footwear/Socks

Scholars are allowed to wear socks and shoes of any color. All shoes must be closed heel and toe, and low heeled. Boots are permitted but may be no taller than mid-calf. NO sandals, flip flops, high heels, heelys or light-up shoes are permitted.

Note:

Each scholar’s attire is both a personal and parental responsibility. RWSA requires school uniforms to be clean and pressed without emblems (logos) of any kind. All scholars will wear the designated school uniform unless otherwise specified by the school administration for special events, activities or casual/express yourself day. Scholars must be in uniform for all school-sponsored activities, whether on- or off-campus, such as field trips, academic competitions, and school-sponsored social and recreational events.


*The wearing of a uniform will not prohibit students from wearing particular attire that is part of their religious practice/beliefs. Families are encouraged to speak to Principal Barksdale regarding any/all accommodations.
