  • PHS has a long tradition of academic excellence.  Our school is currently ranked the highest performing comprehensive high school in CMS, with a grade of A+.  PHS is also a National Blue Ribbon School, the highest recognition available to schools. 

  • Our students consistently EXCEED academic growth on state assessment measures indicating more than a year’s worth of growth in a year’s time. 

  • Providence students consistently have the highest average SAT scores in the Charlotte region and our Advanced Placement (AP) pass rate is the highest in CMS.

  • PHS is one of America’s top high schools as ranked by Newsweek Magazine  ( #202 out of 26,000 in the US)

  • College admissions offices report that Providence graduates are very prepared to excel in college.  PHS Alumni report that the background they received at Providence puts them ahead of other college freshmen.

  • The Class of 2017 earned over $14 million in scholarships.  This is the largest number of scholarships and the largest amount per capita of any other graduating class in CMS.
