A note from the Principal,Brian Doerer, Principal, Pineville Elementary School
As Robert Frost said in his poem, “Two Tramps in the Mud”, “My objective in living is to unite my avocation and my vocation.” For me, the principalship does just that. I believe our lives are journeys of self-realization and self–improvement achieved through service to others. Every day provides us these opportunities and perhaps there is no better place to experience this than an elementary school, especially at Pineville Elementary.
Being a father of two children has helped me to see the uniqueness of every child. It has helped me to see my own children in the children we serve and see my family in the families of our school. As parents we are advocates for our children, since they are our chief responsibility. We appreciate your support and involvement as the educational process must go far beyond the schoolhouse to be of the highest quality. We all want the very best for our kids, especially in school, as it is fundamental to a successful and happy future. But whether it is our child’s first soccer game, dance recital, first day of Kindergarten, efforts to make the baseball team or cheerleading squad, we soon discover that though we can guide, support and love our children, we cannot live their lives for them. It is the same here at school. We teach, nurture, and inspire children as they persist with the work of school. Then the miracle of learning comes, the sense of discovery and understanding for the child. It’s the “Ah Ha” moment “when the light comes on”. That process of self-realization and self-improvement is why I am here. It’s why I am proud to be the principal of Pineville Elementary school.
With a smile,
