Woodworking is the art or skill of making items from wood. Although many of the clubs offered on Family Nights incorporate STEM ideas, woodworking may not be thought of in that same light. However, students must use mathematical measurements for cutting the wood and joining pieces together to create art. The leaders of this club are very passionate about the things they build and show a keen interest in sharing their trade with students. Students in this club earn the tools they use throughout the semester, after showing that they have mastered use of certain tools. Showcasing their creations at the end of the semester shows off the skills and crafts that participants have learned.
Teen Health Connection
Teenagers going through adolescence are very vulnerable and at an increased risk for developing unhealthy habits. With this in mind, we are proud to be partnered with Teen Health Connection! This organization offers medical and mental healthcare and health education services for adolescents.
This semester, the most popular adult class offered during Family Nights is "Parenting the Love and Logic Way." This class will help parents be more confident and have fun parenting in a much more relaxed environment. Teenagers who have a better relationship with their parents are more likely to steer away from the temptations that many teenagers face. Click on Teen Health Connection for more information.

As a result of this school designation, even the students who do not
participate in McPIE programs benefit every day because of the STEAM electives
they have access to. A few of the STEAM classes and Family Night clubs offered
include Robotics, Ten80 (the science of NASCAR), and Quadcopters.
our Volunteers, we are NOTHING!
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we
Volunteering seems like such an easy thing to do. But, when you really think
about what volunteering means, it is something so much more than simply showing
up. Volunteers give their hearts, time, knowledge, and love, to impact someone
else's life in a way that could never have been achieved otherwise.
Showing up is a choice that volunteers have each Tuesday evening, and the
McClintock community is so thankful that you choose to show up! When you
volunteer, you are not paid in money. You are paid in love. People may forget
what you said, and forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made
them feel. We are in the business of making these students feel like they are
someone special and know that someone believes in them. The future story they
are creating is one that will be influenced by what we give!
"Volunteers don't get paid - not because they are worthless, but because
they are priceless."
