Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!  The School Counseling Department at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School is very excited to be working with each grade level this year.  We understand that Starting middle school is a big step.  We want to make the transition from summer break to returning back to school as smooth as possible.  We welcome the opportunity to speak with parents and students so please feel free to call us with any questions or concerns.  We look forward to a wonderful and successful school year.

 Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School Counselors Mission Statement

The Martin Luther King Middle School’s School Counseling Program will support every student in the areas of academic, career and personal/social development. The program is design to provide learning opportunities in a proactive manner to ensure that all students achieve school success.

 What is a School Counselor?

School Counselors are individuals who support and focus on the needs, interests, and issues related to the various stages of student growth. The school counselor is a certified professional educator who assists students, teachers, families, and administrators.

  • Grief and Crisis Counseling
  • Interpreting Standardized Test Results
