5th grade students in two classes recently shared their Math Fair projects. Congratulations to Kylie Blackwell (first place), Mia Wachter (second place), and Brody Mull and Lauren Evans (honorable mention)! ALL students should be proud of their work!

1st graders feel moon surface -- sort of!

Students in Ms. Alcorn's and Mrs. Pratt's first-grade classes made moon sand to discover what it might feel like on the surface of the moon.

Ms. Lipski's students write about what makes J.V. Washam special

Ms. Lipski's first graders recently completed a unit on opinion writing. They wrote letters to CMS Superintendent Dr. Heath Morrison about what makes J.V. Washam a great school, which were sent via email along with an iMovie trailer. "I thought it was very cool and loved the credits at the end – very Hollywood," he commented. Click here to see the students' work.

We are proud to announce this year's Teacher of the Year as Kim Linkner (second grade) and Teacher Assistant of the Year as Suzie Inman. Congratulations!

Kim Linkner, second-grade teacher; Dr. Rachel Williams, principal; Suzie Inman, teacher assistant
