REPORT AN ABSENCE
When a student is absent, it is not necessary to call the school. We ask a parent or guardian to notify the attendance office in writing which provides the reason for the absence. Parents or guardians have the following options for reporting an absence:
Please include the dates and reasons for each absence. Excused absences are limited by law to a student's personal illness, attendance at a funeral of an immediate family member, a court-ordered appearance, or an appointment (medical or dental) that cannot be scheduled outside of the normal school day.
EARLY DISMISSAL: NO LATER THAN 2:45
Please note there are NO dismissals after 2.45pm. If you send a note for your student to be in the office at 2:45pm and you arrive after the 2:45pm deadline, if your student is not in the office waiting for you the office staff will not call your child out of class. Also, all early dismissal and late arrivals for medical appointments MUST have a note from the doctor/dentist in order to be excused.
Note: We strongly discourage early dismissals, but in the event that you do need to pull your child from school, please follow these directions:
Please send in a hand-written note with your child in the morning. Students who leave before or after 11.45am will be marked absent for the day unless they have a doctor/dentist note.
Have your child bring this to the Welcome Desk that morning and they will be given a Hall Pass.
Remind your child of the time you need them to be there at the Front Office. It is the student's responsibility to be at the Welcome Desk on time.
At the time of pickup, please come to the Welcome Desk and sign your child out on a blue card. Please be prepared to show identification.
Should you forget to send in a note, please know that it may take up to 15 minutes to find your child and have them come to the front office.
