Mrs. Collins, Assistant Principal
I am so excited to be joining the Huntingtowne Farms family! I have heard about many of the great things that are happening here, and I am excited to jump in and be a part of it!
A little about me... I am originally from Connecticut but moved down south to come to college (and escape the snow) at Elon University. I have a degree in Elementary Education and also in Music. I started my career at Paw Creek Elementary where I was a 4th grade teacher, and later served there as a K-5 facilitator. During that time I earned a degree in Executive Leadership and my principal's license. Most recently, I have served as the Dean of Instruction at Merry Oaks International Academy. At home I have a fantastic husband and adorable "puppy" named Dixie(she is really 10). When I am not with them, I am usually playing on one of my many intramural sports teams several times a week- kickball, volleyball, tennis, anything else I am asked to join. I also love to travel! In the past year I have been able to go to Australia, Venice, Rome and Barcelona. Finally, I truly love children and working with them and their families. I could not imagine having any other job, and look forward to everyday as a new adventure. I value meaningful and applicable instruction, and growing along side others in the teaching profession. I am looking forward to serving our school. it is going to be a great year!
