Get ready NLC! We’re officially kicking off the R.A.C.E for the North!

The race is a charity run/walk fundraiser designed to support students, teachers, and families of the North Learning Community. The event will be hosted by CMS, Lake Norman EDC, Lake Norman Chamber and the Lake Norman Education Collaborative. The event includes a Kid’s Fun Run and a 5K. Adult participants will receive a performance t-shirt while supplies last. Students are encouraged to show their spirit by wearing their school gear. The race will be officially timed and prizes will be awarded for top finishers in each category, 1) the best male and 2) female, and 3) registered participants 12 and under.
Proceeds from the event will:
- go toward grants to the teachers and staff of the 26 schools represented in the North Learning Community for teacher support (i.e. teacher appreciation, classroom beautification, teacher lounge upgrades, etc.)
- provide critical needs funding to families in our community as referred by teachers and staff in the North Learning Community
NLC Support Staff Teams
The North Learning Community support staff has divided into teams based on school feeder patterns. The team leaders will help encourage school participation and morale, and boost a sense of healthy, friendly competition. Festivities begin at 8:30am on the day of the race, each feeder pattern will have a designated meeting place to get organized and energized.

Fee includes race registration, chip fee and t-shirts for adult participants only. Additional online service fee will apply.

All registrations after April 10th (adult t-shirts only while supplies last): $25.

The 5K planning team will send out an email to all registered volunteers seeking support for the event day activities. We’ll hold a volunteer training session at Jason’s Deli – Huntersville 16639 Birkdale Commons Pkwy, Huntersville, NC 28078 at 6pm on Thursday, April 12.
