At its Jan. 10 meeting, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education voted to change the make-up day for the Jan. 10 snow day to Jan. 24 from Feb. 20. This change has several benefits. It gives teachers an additional day to work with students in preparation for End-of-Course tests which will now begin on Jan. 18. It preserves the option to use Feb. 20 as a make-up day if needed in the future. Our updated final exam schedule will now be as follows:

During exam week, we will dismiss early each day. Students will be dismissed at approximately 12:30 p.m. each day. No students will be permitted to leave an exam session early, per state testing guidelines.

1/18:  4th Block

1/19:  3rd Block

1/20: 2nd Block

1/23:  1st Block

1/24:  Exam Make-ups

1/25:  Day 1 Semester II

All State exams are online this year.  As a result, the State has imposed new testing guidelines.  We now need more proctors.  If you can proctor for us, even one day, please use the link

in order to volunteer as a proctor.

The PTSA is currently gearing up for the Second Quarter A/B Honor Roll event, where all A/B Honor Roll students are recognized for their hard work during Q2. This quarter we will be featuring a motivational speaker and snacks for the students. The PTSA is reaching out to Hopewell parents for snack and drink donations. If possible, please donate an item or a gift card to purchase needed supplies. The event is scheduled for March 8. All donations are due by the end of the school day on March 6. Donations can be dropped off in the box marked PTSA in the main office.
