Williamson-Teacher Assistant of the Year
Grade Math Teacher
Ms. Swiontek has served as a teacher at Hickory Grove for three
years. She is a true example of what it means to build strong
relationships with all students in order to push them to reach their
potential. She recently made the switch to 5th grade math
this year as she had the highest percentage of students who earned a level 4 or
5 on the math EOG in our entire school last year. Within her three years
at Hickory Grove, she has led by example with breaking barriers with some of
our more challenging students in order to get them learning and working at
extremely high levels. In addition to the strong relationships, she is
vigilant about using standards and student data in order to yield amazing
results with students. In the first quarter alone this year, she exceeded
the 5th grade math MAP growth goal with our BOY Math MAP
testing as well as our EOY EOG goal for the percentage of students earning a
level 4 or 5 with our first quarter common assessment. She is a
true example of what it means to hold students to the highest of
standards! We are extremely proud to have Ms. Swiontek representing our
school as the 2016-17 Teacher of the Year!
Ms. Williamson-Teacher Assistant
Ms. Williamson has
served as a teacher assistant at Hickory Grove for many years. She has
supported grades K-5 and has worked with the highest level of professionalism
in order to best serve our students. She began this school year by
providing Leveled Literacy Instruction (LLI) to students across many grade
levels in addition to working with students in our technology lab. Due to her excellent instruction
with literacy, she was asked at different points in the year to serve as a
substitute for 1st and 2nd grades. As a
substitute, she participated in grade level planning, met with facilitators to
review weekly lesson plans, prepped all materials for lessons, and implemented
lessons daily. Ms.
Williamson takes this work of changing students' lives extremely seriously and
displays the utmost levels of professionalism at all times. Her dedication to student
learning is truly to be commended. We are extremely proud to have her
representing our school as the 2016-17 Teacher Assistant of the Year!
