Art Walk Volunteers Needed
Please sign up to help Ms. Waters with the 2nd Annual Art Walk. Many of these volunteer times will be throughout the school days leading up to the Art Walk, and some will be during the actual event on May 11th. Tasks include matting artwork, labeling artwork, hanging artwork, greeting guest as they enter the art walk, "guarding" the ceramic pieces, and supervising the collaborative art piece.
Parents! This year’s main fundraiser is the Grand Oak Owls Fun Run! It’s a 9-day program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on April 19th. Then families will have time to get pledges for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps), and we’ll celebrate at the Fun Run on April 28th. With our big goal to raise funds for Outdoor Enhancements, we asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run and make it more profitable, easier, and fun.
Students will also experience an amazing character theme, BACKYARD BOX OFFICE! It’s a movie theme all about making a difference by getting into character. Our students will learn from five REAL kid difference-makers. From inventors, to world-class speakers, to business owners, to world-record holders, these five kids will inspire our students to practice the five "Character Acts" and make a difference in our community.
Donations will go toward Outdoor Enhancements, and to the entire 9-day experience. So please help our school by reaching out to sponsors. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on your student at the Fun Run! Thank you for your support!
Changes Coming for Our Before School Program
Due to our earlier start time in 2017-18 we will not have a before school option for parents at the school. We will continue to have our normal afterschool program available. If you are interested or have questions, please apply on the CMS website or call Lori Wilson at 980-343-2063 with questions.
Camp Invention is coming back to Grand Oak. Registration is open at campinvention.org! It will be the week of June 19-22 from 8:00 to 4:00! A flyer has been placed in your child’s Friday folder.
Camp Invention is a camp that teaches children critical thinking skills while having fun! They will be talking about it all summer!
Mrs. Royster will be the Director this year, so feel free to contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org you have any questions. Mrs. Lippard, Mrs. Spain, Ms. Waters and Ms. McIver will be our wonderful instructors.
