Girls on the Run, Kind Kids, and Leadership Club are teaming up this year for our annual Loaves and Fishes Food Drive! The drive runs now until Friday, December 9th. We will culminate with our annual Food Flood Friday that final day! Our goal this year is 3,400 items. Students will turn items in at their classroom each day. Any small or medium sized packing boxes families can donate for to pack the food in would be greatly appreciated. Please bring box donations to the Treehouse and we will distribute them to classrooms. Questions please contact Ms. Brinn- jennifere.brinn@cms.k12.nc.us. Thank you for helping Grand Oak fill stomachs and hearts this holiday season!

Battle-of-the-Books.png

Calling all 4th and 5th Grade Book Lovers- Mrs. Cartwright and Ms. Brinn are excited to form a Grand Oak Battle of the Books team this year! We are searching for students who love to read and want to become our experts on novels from our Battler of the Books (BOB) book list. Students will gather to practice on Tuesday mornings to prepare for a competition with surrounding elementary schools in late April. Interested students should speak to their 4th or 5th grade literacy teacher. Literacy teachers will then submit names to Mrs. Cartwright and Ms. Brinn who will then follow-up with the students. Any questions, please contact Mrs. Cartwright laural.cartwright@cms.k12.nc.us or Ms. Brinn jennifere.brinn@cms.k12.nc.us.
