May 2 from 6-7 at Blythe Elementary
May 3 from 7:30-8:30 at Bradley Middle
May 8 from 6-7 at Croft Elementary
May 9th is a public hearing/Board Meeting
May 24th is continued hearing and probable vote on proposals

GOE needs YOU to serve as an EOG proctor!
North Carolina requires all test sessions to have a proctor in every class participating in the EOG assessment in order to assist test administrators with conducting a fair and uniform test administration. We are excited to have your support during this important time of the year, as you will play a major role in our upcoming EOG assessments. Prior to our EOGs, proctors must attend a training session each year, which is only approximately 15-20 minutes. The EOG and Proctor training dates and times are located below.

Wednesday, May 24th: 3rd Reading
Thursday, May 25th: 3rd Math and 5th Science
Wednesday, May 31st: 4th and 5th Reading
Thursday, June 1st: 4th and 5th Math
Proctor Training Dates & Times:
(You will only need to attend one session)
Proctor training will occur every morning before each EOG assessment @ 7:45 in the Media Center. You will only need to attend one session

Grand Oak Parents: Due to our earlier start time in 2017-18 we will not be able to have a before school option for parents at the school unless we have enough students enrolled. If you are interested, please make sure to register soon! We will continue to have our normal afterschool program available. If you are interested or have questions, please apply on the CMS website or call Lori Wilson at 980-343-2063 with questions.
Art Walk Volunteers Needed
Please sign up to help Ms. Waters with the 2nd Annual Art Walk. Many of these volunteer times will be throughout the school days leading up to the Art Walk, and some will be during the actual event on May 11th. Tasks include matting artwork, labeling artwork, hanging artwork, greeting guest as they enter the art walk, "guarding" the ceramic pieces, and supervising the collaborative art piece.
Camp Invention is coming back to Grand Oak. Registration is open at campinvention.org! It will be the week of June 19-22 from 8:00 to 4:00! A flyer has been placed in your child’s Friday folder.
Camp Invention is a camp that teaches children critical thinking skills while having fun! They will be talking about it all summer!
