Welcome to Elizabeth Lane's Technology Page.
Digital Citizenship Vision:
Students at Elizabeth Lane will become responsible digital citizens who know how to use digital media in a 24/7 connected world, safely, effectively, ethically, and respectfully. To accomplish this goal, each year students in grades 3rd through 5th will receive 2+ hours of instruction, using resources from Common Sense Media, on how to become a responsible digital citizen in today’s world.

Our focus in technology for our younger students is to introduce them to computers. At the beginning of each class, we practice logging in and using the keyboard and mouse. Then we learn how to navigate through websites, use and add to our favorites, and use programs such as Microsoft Word, Inspiration, and age appropriate websites.
For our older students, our focus in technology is to build on the skills learned in the primary grades. Students are learning how to use the Microsoft Office programs of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Publisher. We integrate these programs with the curriculum being taught in the classroom. Kids learn how to research, save, and present their work. Programs such as Let's Go Learn and Study Island are tailored to each individual student to increase personal growth.
