Irving Hunter.jpg

Irving Hunter is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Mr. Hunter was born in Queens, New York but was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended UNC-Charlotte, where he majored in History and Math. He has been teaching for 9 years. He currently teaches Math at East. Mr. Hunter enjoys coaching and poetry. You can find him in RM 301.

Bill Allen is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Mr. Allen is from Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina of Chapel Hill where he majored in Journalism. Mr. Allen has been teaching for 15 years. He currently teaches Theory of Knowledge (IB) and Newpaper at East. He is a former Spanish teacher at East as well. Mr. Allen enjoys going to fairs and festivals, writing, salsa dancing, juggling, learning other languages and singing. You can find him in RM 113.

Christiana Jackson is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Ms. Jackson is from Waldorf, Maryland. She attended Temple University where she majored in Political Science. She currently teaches English III at East. Ms. Jackson has been teaching for 5 years now. She enjoys cooking, drawing, writing poetry, binge watching shows with her husband and spending time with her friends. You can find her in RM 304.




 Amy Castle.jpgAmy Castle is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Ms. Castle is from Columbus, Ohio. She attended Marietta College where she majored in English. She has been teaching for one year. Ms. Castle currently teaches English II at East. She enjoys anything dealing with athletics from watching sports in person or on TV to playing sports, reading, spending time laughing with loved ones.You can find her in RM 315.




David Cioch.jpgDavid Cioch is our Spotlight Staff Memeber of the Week. Mr. Cioch is from Ludlow Massachusetts. He attended University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth where he majored in Criminal Justice. He has been teaching for 6 years. He is currently in the EC Dept. where he works with AU students. Mr. Cioch enjoys exercising, cooking, reading and spending time with his family. You can find him in RM 111.

Amanda Anderson is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Ms. Anderson is from Ripley, Mississippi. She attended Mississippi State University where she earned a BS in Secondary Mathematics and an MS in Instructional Technology. She has been teaching for 19 years. She currently teaches Math 2, Math 3 and SREB at East. Ms. Anderson enjoys spending time with her 2 boys on the baseball field, doing anything outdoors, photography and is involved in her church women’s group. You can find him in RM 402.

Craig Barone is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Mr. Barone is from Fredonia, New York. He attended University of Buffalo where he majored in History. He has been teaching for 20 years and all of those years have been at East Meck! He currently teaches American History I and II as well as IB History of Americas. Mr. Barone enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, going to his children’s sporting events and playing golf. You can find him in RM 633.

Chris Lubicich is our Staff Member of the Week. Mr. Lubicich is from Massapequa Park, Long Island. He attended S.U.N.Y Cortland where he majored in sociology and psychology. He has been teaching for 6 years. Mr. Lubicich currently teaches EC/OCS at East. He enjoys doing outdoor activities, watching the NY Giants, NY Islanders, NY Yankees and NY Knicks. This man knows his sport teams! :) He also likes to play golf as well as relaxing with his wife and puppy. You can find him in RM 109.

Andrew Mullen is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Mr. Mullen is from Asheboro. He went to App State where he majored in Spanish-Ed. He has been teaching for less than 1 year. He currently teaches Spanish at East. Mr. Mullen enjoys powering through long movie series or tv series, grilling and anything outdoors. You can find him in M280.

Ann Marie Peterlin is our Staff Member of the Week. Ms. Peterlin is from Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She attended Brigham Young University where she majored in German and History. She has been teaching for 25 years. Ms. Peterlin currently teaches German at East. She enjoys rugby, archery, black powder shooting, reading, traveling, girl scouts and 5K runs. You can find her in M280.

Brian Zurhellen is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Mr. Zurhellen was born in Farmington, New Mexico but grew up in Placentia California. He attended Dartmouth College where he majored in Classical Studies. He has been teaching for 13 years. Mr. Zurhellen currently teaches English and coaches baseball at East. He enjoys playing baseball, doing logic puzzles, exercising, going to the whitewater center, reading the news as well as relaxing with friends and family. You can find him in Rm 303.

Richard Bohan is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Mr. Bohan is from Rohnert Park, California. He attended San Diego State University where hemajored in Physical Education and Spanish. He has taught ESL and Geography. Mr. Bohan has been teaching for 3 years. He currently teaches Spanish at East. Mr. Bohan enjoys cooking for others, road trips and playing ice hockey, you can find him at M551.

Debbie Taylor is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. 

Debbie Taylor is from Madison, Wisconsin. She attended UW System where she majored in Special Ed and Reading. She has been teaching for 33 years. Ms. Taylor currently teaches EC at East. She loves to do crossword puzzles, read and spend time with her grandbabies. She is a wonderful person, loves life and definitely loves her kids (students). If you want to stop by and see her in action, you can find her in Room 110.

Rochcelle McCormick is our Staff Member of the Week,. Ms. McCormick is from Chicago, Illinois. She attended Clark Atlanta University where she majored in Social Work. She likes to workout, enjoys cooking, drinking gourmet coffee daily as well as chauffeuring her daughter Iyanna everywhere!​

Tim Long is our Staff Member of the Week. Mr. Long is from Anderson, South Carolina. He attended Clemson University, where he majored in Marketing. He has been teaching for 10 years. He currently teaches Sports Marketing and Marketing at East. Mr. Long loves spending time with his family (wife and 5 kids combined) and attending church. He also likes to watch all Clemson sports, coaching soccer and running​

She currently teaches Social Studies. Ms. Jarvis likes to shop, binge watch tv, spend time with friends and family as well as read books.​

Mr. William Dullin is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Mr. Dulin is from Clover, South Carolina. He attended Johnson C. Smith University where he majored in Physical Education. He has been teaching Physical Education for 35 years. Mr. Dulin loves to travel, listen to Old School R&B music and going to sporting events.​




 Heather Hays.jpgHeather Hays is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Ms. Hays is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended Case Western Reserve University where she majored in Chemistry and Psychology. She also attended California University of Pennsylvania where she did her MA teaching. She has been teaching for 12 years and all of those years were here at East. She taught Chemistry and is now our IB Coordinator. Ms. Hays loves to Read, Paint and loves being an auntie. She also makes yummy chocolate treats!




 Dr. Susie Austin.jpgDr. Susie Austin is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Dr. Austin is from Albemarle, North Carolina. She attended Wingate and UNCC where she majored in Human Services, Instructional Systems Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, School Administration. She received her doctorates in Educational Leadership. Dr. Austin currently teaches Instructional Technology and has been for 21 years. She is our computer/technology guru here at East. Dr. Austin loves going to the beach with her family, spending time with her grands, traveling, making music videos for church and singing.​​

Janae Aiken is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Ms. Aiken is from San Antonio, Texas. She attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where she majored English Education and History. This is her first year teaching English at East. Ms. Aiken likes to play soccer, working at Starbucks, listening to music and working out.​

Karla Berrio is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Karla Berrios is from Coral Springs, Florida. She attended the University of North Carolina-Wilmington where she majored in History and Second Education. This is her first teaching job here at East, where she currently teaches Social Studies. Ms. Berrios ikes to watch Netflix, play ultimate Frisbee as well as spending time with family, her boyfriend and her cat.​




 May Winiarski.jpgMay Winiarski is the Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Ms. Winiarski is from Charlotte and Cullowhee, North Carolina. She attended UNC-Charlotte, Western Carolina, Georgia State and University of Albany where she majored in Computer Science, Accounting, Interior Design, Art Education and Painting. She has been teaching for 21 years in Visual Arts, IB, AP, AP Art History and Art Appreciation. Ms. Winiarski enjoys Art, Traveling, Hiking, Gardening, Home Renovation and Yoga. She says that she is a Foodie, she loves to Cook and is almost a Vegan. She also loves spending time with my twin daughters (class of 2005) and eating at great restaurants in Charlotte and NYC.

Dale Richardson is the Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Mrs. Richardson is from Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended UNCG where she majored in Home Economics Education. She has been teaching for 28 years in Culinary Arts. Mrs. Richardson loves road trips, daytrips and shopping. She also enjoys spending time with riends and family, trying new restaurants and learning new things.

Sergeant Ronald Waller is our Spotlight Stafff Member of the Week. Sergeant Waller is from Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Northeastern University, where he majored in M.S. Global Studies and Internal Affairs. He currently teaches JROTC at East. He has been teaching for 12 years. Sergeant Waller is currently attending FBI citizens academy. He likes to landscape his yard and study God’s word.​

She has been at East for 19 years, where she teaches special education. Mrs. Hanson loves spending time with her children and animals. She also loves going to the mountains​

Amanda Turner is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Mrs. Turner is from Herndon, Virginia. She attended UNC-Greensboro, where she majored in Music. She has been teaching for 18 years. She currently is shared between East Meck and Audrey Kell where she teaches Orchestra. Mrs. Turner loves to spend time with her family and watching the Panthers play. She also loves music, performing and being an orchestra teacher.​

Amanda Delarez is our Spotlight StaMs. DeAlvarez is from Albany, New York. She attended Queens University of Charlotte, where she majored in Spanish and minored in Education. She has taught for 4 years. She currently teaches Spanish at East. Ms. DeAlvarez enjoys taking care of her son and daughter, cooking different types of foods. She enjoys reading science fiction, fantasy and books with dystopian societies as a setting.February​

Audrey Dorante is our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Ms. Dorante is from Yonkers, NY. She attended State University of NY at Albany, where she majored in in History. She has been teaching for 9 years now. She currently teaches World History, Civics, Economics and American History here at East. Ms. Dorante enjoys working out, hiking, cooking and playing with her dog.

Vince Moore is the Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Mr. Moore (he likes to be called Coach Moore) is from Baltimore, Maryland. He went to Ashford University and Bridgewater College where he majored in Info. Sys. Mgmt and received a Masters of Art in teaching. He has been teaching for 4 years. At East, he teaches Foundation of I.T and Principle of Business. Coach Moore enjoys being a coach/trainer in basketball, he likes to play golf, spending time with his wife and kids, watching basketball, playing card games and working on home improvements.​


Tracey Petree is the Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Ms. Petree is from Charlotte. She attended UNC-Wilmington where she majored in English Lit. She has been teaching for 21 years. She currently teaches English at East Meck. Ms. Petree enjoys mountain biking, trail running, hiking, solving crosswords puzzles and reading.​

Mitch Lebowitz is the Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Mr. Lebowitz is from Salem, New Hampshire. He went to University of New Hampshire where he majored in Communications. He currently teaches Math at East. He has been teaching for 14 years. Mr. Lebowitz enjoys all things New England like the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics and the Bruins. He loves coaching baseball and fishing with his kids.​

Marsha Chumas is the Spotlight Staff Member of the Week. Mrs.Chumas is from Charlotte, the Matthews area. Her family has EAGLE Pride. Shegraduated from East Meck in ‘84. Her husband and her 3 kids all graduated from East Meck aswell. Ms. Chumas went to UNCC where she majored in Math. She has taught Math for 28years. Ms. Chumas doesn’t get much time to do any hobbies but when she does get time, it isspent with her grandson.​​

Douglas Saul is the Spotlight Staff Memeber of the week. Doug is from Dallas, TX but he moved a lot. He attended Texas Tech University and the University of Florida where he majored in Biochemistry (BS) and Pharmacy (MS). He has beenteaching for 1 year. He currently teaches Honors Principles of Biomedical Science. Douglasenjoys making things (usually with wood), Houses/construction, church, movies, traveling, rockclimbing (he doesn’t go often, but when he does it's always a blast!), hiking, and trying new things.​

Michelle See is the Spotlight Staff Memeber of the Week. Michelle is from Stuart / Palm City, FL. She attended Florida State University, University of FL. and University of Central FL. Michelle teaches Business and Mathematics. She has been teaching for 17 years now. Her hobbies and interests are spending time with her 4 children and husband.Traveling abroad to Turkey, going to the pool or ocean, roller skating (true 80’s baby at heart) and working out.

Shanda Hannan is the spotlight staff member of the week. Shanda is from Litchfield, Minnesota. She attended Concordia College and Hamline University where she majored in MAT ESL. She has a BA in Psych and Spanish. She teaches ESL here at East Meck. She has been teaching for 9 years now. Shanda hobbies/interests are acting, singing, running, reading, traveling, spending time with her daughter and boyfriend.​

Donny Wisor is Staff Member of the Week. Donny is from Old Fort, NC. He attended Appalachian State and UNC-Charlotte, where he majored in Journalism and Special Education. He teaches students with Autism. He has been teaching for 6 years.. He likes to go camping with his family, read, technology, workout as well as teach gun safety.​

Rachel Servia is our Staff Spotlight of the Week! This

is her first year at East Mecklenburg. Rachel is from Raleigh, NC and has been teaching Math for 23 years. This year, she is teaching AFM, Math 2, and Math 3. Rachel attended UNC Greensboro for her undergraduate work in mathematics and attended East Carolina University where she received her Masters in Accounting. Rachel’s interests/hobbies include traveling around the country and abroad, and spending time with her family and friends.​

Candice Farrington is Staff Member Spotlight of the Week. She is from Asheville, NC and attended UNC Charlotte-Go “49ers”. She majored in Psychology and got her masters degree in counseling. She has been counseling for 20 years now. She has been an Eagle for 14 years. Candance’s interests and hobbies include spending time with her family, especially her sons, Miles and Caleb. She enjoy taking long walks with her dogs (Jionni and Darby), as well as gardening and reading.

Chris Moreau is our Staff Memeber of the Week. He is from our home town Charlotte, NC and attended Indiana University where he majored in Music Education. He is our new Band Director this year and currently in his tenth year of teaching. Chris interest and hobbies include spending time with his family, his cats, and watching his favorite TV shows.​

Ben Dusek is our Staff Spotlught of the Week. He teaches Multi-Media Web Design Teacher. Ben is from Miami, Florida where he attended Florida State University majoring in Sports Management. He has been teaching three years and this is his first year at East. For the month of September, Ben was one of our Staff Member's of the Month. Ben's hobbies/interest are spending time with his wife Kelly and dog Lulu, watching sports, and eating good food. He is currently going back to school studying to be an Instructional Technology Facilitator. ​

Abby Grube is our Staff Spotlight of the Week! She is from Michigan and attended Central Michigan University double majoring in German and English. Ms. Grube also attended Johanne Gutenberg Universitat in Mainz, Germany. She has been teaching for ten years and is currently teaching German and English. Ms. Grube's interest/hobbies include spending time with friends and family, reading, walking, and chasing her toddler around! She is married to Jeremy Grube, Chemistry teacher at East Mecklenburg. ​

Kristopher Majak is our Staff Member Spotlight of the Week. He is from Watertown, NY. Kristopher attended Wake Forest University where he received a B.A. in Communications. He then attended UNCC earning a Masters in English/Education. Kristopher has been teaching for eleven years  and currently is in his first year at East Mecklenburg. His interest/hobbies include spending time with family, traveling, cooking, watching sports, and reading. Please let Kristopher know how much we appreciate him and his passion for teaching. ​



Rachel Sawyer is our Spot Light staff member of the week. She is from Charlotte, NC and a proud East Mecklenburg graduate, Class of 2007. Rachel attended UNC Wilmington where she majored in Math Education. She has been at East for four years and currently teaches AP Statistics, Math 2, and IB Math Studies. Rachel interests/hobbies include being a die hard Carolina Panther's fan, spending time outdoors, spending time with family and watching football. Rachel has two dogs, Brutus and Mo. Mo is a therapy dog and on Saturdays goes to the library for the "Paws to Read" program to help kids gain confidence in reading. She has been married for four years to Tim Sawyer,  who is an East Meck graduate, Class of 2007​

 Ashanti Manier who is our Staff Spotlight of the Week. Ashanti has been in teaching for four years and a teacher at East the last two. She is from Detroit, MI where she attended Eastern Michigan University majoring in Biology. Ashanti is one of our science teachers and also is working with our Academy of Engineering this year. Her hobbies/interest include spending time with her family, staying healthy, and getting involved in her culture and community.

David Levesque.jpgDavid Levesque our Spotlight Staff Member of the Week! He is from Salem, Massachusetts. David attended ATT Technical, majoring in Automotive. He has been in teaching for fifteen years and has been teaching Automotive at East Mecklenburg for years. David's interest/hobbies are playing golf, fishing, and automotive repair. We are proud to him someone of his caliber teaching our students every day! ​



Abigail Northrup.JPGAbigail Northrup our Staff Member Spotlight of the Week. Her hometown is Toledo, Ohio. Abigail attended Bowling Green State University where she majored in a Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist. She is in her second year at East serving as one of our EC Autistic teachers teaching Math, Science, and Life Skills. Abigail's interests/hobbies include working out, baking, shopping, and hanging out with family and friends. When you see Abigail let her know how much we appreciate what she does every day with our EC students.​



Eric Scuitto.JPGEric Scuitto, our Staff Member Spotlight of the Week. Eric’s hometown is Saugerties, NY. He attended Cortland State where he majored in Physical Education. Eric has been teaching for six years and this is his first year at East serving as our Strength and Conditioning teacher/coach. His interests/hobbies include fly fishing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, and traveling. 




Pat Alfarone.jpg​​Dr. Pat Alfarone our Staff Member Spotlight of the Month! He is from Plainedge-Long Island, New York. He attended Los Angeles College of Chiropractic where he received a Doctors of Chiropractic. He also attended Mount Saint Mary's College where he received his Masters in Education. Dr. Alfarone has been at East Mecklenburg for three years teaching PLTW Biomedical Science. His interests/hobbies include soccer, surfing, and sleeping, but mostly just enjoy being a dad! ​



Rebecca Lintz.jpgRebecca Lintz our Staff Member Spotlight of the Week! She is from Zanesville, Ohio. Rebecca attended Loyola University majoring in English and Women Studies Chicago and Musklingum University where she earned her masters in teaching. Rebecca has been teaching ESL at East Mecklenburg for four years. Her interest/hobbies are reading (she is a member of a book club), playing with animals (her two cats), running, and spending time with friends and family, especially her two year old nephew. When you see Rebecca please let her know how proud we are to her on our staff.


Drew VunCannon.jpgDrew Vuncannon, Social Studies teacher, who is our Staff Member Spotlight of the Week! Mr. Vuncannon’s hometown is Hendersonville, North Carolina. He attended UNC-Charlotte majoring in History and most recently attended Western Carolina earning a degree in Administration.  He has being teaching eleven years in our Social Studies department where he has taught a variety of subjects, currently, Civics and Economics. Also, throughout his eleven years, Mr. Vuncannon has been an instrumental part of our basketball and track programs serving as a coach. Mr. Vuncannon ’s interest and hobbies include coaching, watching and playing sports, and spending time with his family and friends.


 Angie Dickinson.jpgAngie Dickinson , one of our science teachers, for being named Staff Member Spotlight of the Week!  Angie grew up in Bagdad, Florida and attended Florida State University majoring in Science Education. She has been in education for 32 years and currently teaches AP and IB Earth and Environmental Sciences. Angie's interest/hobbies are gardening, reading, playing with her grandchildren, shopping, and cooking (not necessarily in this order). Thank you Angie for your dedication to East Mecklenburg and your love of science.


Melissa Ross.JPGMelissa Ross for being named Staff Member of the Week. She is from Heyworth, Illinois where she attended Western Illinois University and Illinois State University, majoring in Elementary Education. Melissa serves as our School Registrar in the Student Services Department and helps coach other Registrars in the CMS District. Her interest/hobbies are reading and bragging on her ten grandchildren. Please let Melissa know how much you appreciate her and all the behind the scenes paperwork she does every day registering our students. ​


Jonathan Janus.jpgJonathan Janus who was selected as our Staff Member of the Week! Jonathan is from Charleston, SC and earned a degree from Columbia International University in Humanities. He has been teaching English at East Meck for four years and has become actively involved our Global Immersion Journey. His most recent accomplishment was taking a group of students to Costa Rica over spring break. Jonathan's interest/hobbies include traveling, tennis, and running. Tell Jonathan how much you appreciate him!

She is from Bemus Point, NY and attended SUNY at Brockport and Edinboro University where she earned degrees in Nursing and a Masters in School Counseling. With 30 years of experience, Sandy now serves as our Career Coordinator helping East students learn more about their career interest and acquire internships. Her interest and hobbies include raising Arabian horses, goats, and gardening, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and spending time with her new grandson Logan.to Sandy Rhinehart for being selected as our Staff Member of the Week. At East, he has been teaching Chemistry for four years. His interests/hobbies are Scientific Skepticism, Red Sox Baseball, motorcycles, listening to podcasts, and distance running.




Robert Gearhart.JPGRobert (Bob) Gearhart for being our Staff Member Spotlight of the Week! Bob is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended Louisiana State University where he majored in Education. Bob came to East Mecklenburg in August 2015 joining our History Department with twenty-seven years of teaching experience. He teaches World History. Bob's interest/hobbies include golfing, cooking, reading, and spending time with his daughter. When you see Bob let him know how proud you are to have him a part of the Eagle Family. ​


Fredy Ramero.jpgFredy Romero as our Staff Member Spotlight of the Week! Fredy is from Bogota, Colombia where he attended La Gran Colombia University earning a B.A. in Spanish/English. He then attended Virginia Commonwealth University earning his Masters in Educational Leadership. Fredy has been teaching 20 years and currently teaches Spanish at East Mecklenburg. His interest are hosting cultural events through the Colombo American Foundation, a non-profit organization he started in 2012; and serving as a member of the Committee of Elders at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee to assist them with issues that affect and involve non-English speaking families in Charlotte. Let Fredy know how much you appreciate his work at East and the surrounding area! ​


Sam Bryant.jpgSam Bryant who was selected as our Staff Member Spotlight of the Week! Sam is from North Babylon, NY. He attended Lincoln University where he earned a degree in Business Administration. Sam has been in teaching for six years. He began his assignment at East as an EC teacher assistant and now is serving as one of our PE/Health teachers. He teaches Sports Medicine and PE/Health. Sam's interest and hobbies are music, coaching football and track, taking long walks with his wife, and playing with his grandkids. Give Sam a high five and let him know how much we appreciate him being on our staff. ​

Bernadette MacLeod.jpgBernadette Macleod as being selected as our Staff Member Spotlight of the  Week! Bernadette's hometown in Rockaway, New Jersey. She attended Rutgers University and received a B.A. in Theatre. Bernadette continued her education attending NYU - New York University and earned a Masters in Educational Theatre. She has been teaching for seventeen years and we are proud to have her leading our Theatre Department. Bernadette's interests and hobbies include reading, singing, spending time with family and friends, and going to the beach. When you see Bernadette, congratulate her and tell her thank you for all she is doing for our Fine Arts department.​


K. Kinser.JPGKathryn Kinser on being selected as our Staff Member Spotlight of the Week. Kathryn's hometown is Charlotte, North Carolina and she is a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School. She attended UNC-Charlotte majoring in History. In her second year as a teacher, Kathryn is currently teaching AP Psychology and Civics and Economics. Her interest and hobbies include traveling, cooking, working out, and exploring new restaurants. Give Kathryn a high five when you see her for being our staff member spotlight of the week! We are proud to have Kathryn on staff.​

Vanessa Case.jpgVinese Judd-Cates is our Staff Mem​​ber Spotlight of the Week. She is from Garner, NC. Vinese attended Hampton University and NC State University earning degrees in Finance and Business Marketing Education. She has been teaching three years and teaches Principles of Business and Finance in our CTE Department. Vinese loves traveling, reading, do-it-yourself projects especially furniture, and watching crime mysteries.

Ashley Hay.jpgAshley Hay, math teacher, who is our Staff Member Spotlight of the Week! She is from Hopkins Park, Illinois. She attended Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama with majors in Mathematics and Secondary Mathematics Education. Ashley is currently in school at Olivet Nazarene University pursing her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. She teaches mathematics and this is going on her second year in teaching. In Ashley's free time she creates and tries new recipes as much as possible. In addition to exploring new foods, she also explores new places quite frequently with her sorority sisters.


Kim Hunniford.jpg Kim Hunniford who is our Staff Member Spotlight of the Week! Kim teaches English and the Yearbook class serving as the Coordinator. She was born and raised in Oshkosh, WI. Kim attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where she received her B.A. in English and then attended the University of North Carolina, Charlotte where her earned her Masters in English Education. She has been teaching ten years and loves on her spare time to read, participate in outdoor activities like hiking, horseback riding, and gardening, and above all spend time with her family and friends. David Veto.jpgDavid Veto - Visual Arts Teacher, who was selected by our staff as the East Mecklenburg Teacher of  the Year Nominee! David is from Springfield, Massachusetts and has been teaching 18 years. He graduated from Appalachian State University with a major in Art Education. He loves biking, playing soccer, doing crosswords, reading, and painting. David will be competing with other CLC teacher candidates for an opportunity to be the CMS Teacher of the Year. Also, David will be featured as our first "Teacher Spotlight of the Week." His picture and information will be posted on our school website. His name is currently being displayed on our school marquee. Let's everyone tell David congrats when you see him on campus. ​
